Swedish Fjällnäs makes US Conde Nast Traveller 2009 Hot List

Fjällnäs 2009-04-23
Fjällnäs is one of the 2009 best hotels in the World.

Fjällnäs continues to manifest its position as one of the most exciting and interesting hotels of the year. The US edition of Condé Nast Traveler picks up Fjällnäs est 1882 on its yearly list of the hottest hotels in the World.

“This is fantastic as Condé Nast Traveler is the worlds most prestigious magazine for hotel and travel. It is also proof that the guest always gets a personal and unique experience at Fjällnäs since the journalists of Condé Nast Traveler always work incognito during their visits” says CEO Johan Bjelke.

As the US edition of Condé Nast Traveler says, “After a mighty makeover that spruced up the original 1882 building and added two new guest wings, a wood-and-glass chapel, and a serene spa, this mountain hotel is a welcome sign of change to the Scandinavian hinterlands, where ski lodges tend to be more basic than beautiful. The 20 rooms are perfectly pared down in scrubbed pine and rough slate, with the vibrant color of Missoni towels, embroidered cushions, and green ceramic teapots. Solid craftsmanship in the wooden buildings ensures nary an Arctic draft.”

Earlier this year Fjällnäs came in sixth place and was the only hotel on The New York Times yearly list of The 44 Places To Go In 2009.
