Up for Water – a mountain expedition with purpose
From 19–22 March 2026, Fjällnäs, in collaboration with WaterAid, invites you to join Up for Water – a unique mountain expedition to the summit of Storvigeln (1,561 m). Guided by Fjällnäs Explore and experienced mountain leaders, participants will ski together through the breathtaking Scandinavian wilderness – all in support of WaterAid’s vital work for clean water.
An experience with meaning
Up for Water is a unique collaboration between Fjällnäs Est. 1882 and WaterAid. The expedition brings together adventure and purpose – an opportunity to raise funds and awareness for clean water around the world. Each participant runs their own fundraising campaign, contributing directly to WaterAid’s life-changing mission.
“This is, of course, about more than reaching a summit. We want to inspire and offer people an experience that brings both purpose and positive change. The nature surrounding Fjällnäs, the sense of togetherness and the shared commitment to something greater give us the chance to meet – and to make a difference. That is exactly what Up for Water is all about,” says Henrik Bertmar, CEO of Fjällnäs.
Basecamp by Lake Bolagen
During the expedition, the group will make a stop at Bolagsstugan by Lake Bolagen, where a basecamp will be set up with tents from Hilleberg, an official partner of the project. Here awaits an evening of togetherness and connection. Participants will camp under the winter sky, enjoy a dinner prepared by Fjällnäs’ own chefs, and take part in activities designed to strengthen teamwork and mountain skills.
A weekend to remember
The expedition offers two days of skiing, fellowship and reflection in the magnificent mountain landscape around Fjällnäs. Along the way to the summit of Storvigeln, participants will encounter stories about mountain culture, nature and water as a vital resource. The weekend concludes with recovery time at Mii Gullo Spa and a celebratory three-course dinner. Participants cover their own travel and accommodation costs
