Fjällnäs wins gold at Star Wine List of the Year 2026
Fjällnäs Restaurant Näset has been awarded Gold in the category Best Medium-Sized List (200–600 wines) at Star Wine List of the Year Sweden 2026.
The award was presented on March 2 during the ceremony at The Winery Hotel in Stockholm and recognises the work that has gone into developing and maintaining Fjällnäs’ wine list.
Fjällnäs previously received Gold in the same category in 2024 and was nominated again in 2025. This year’s award therefore represents yet another confirmation of a consistent and long-term commitment to wine.
A long-term commitment
Receiving Gold once again is, for us, a recognition of a thoughtful and sustained approach to wine, where quality, structure and relevance are at the centre. The wine list is a natural part of the overall experience at Fjällnäs.
The wine list is curated by Christopher Smeds Bjerlo, Head Sommelier at Fjällnäs Est. 1882, who oversees the development and direction of the wine programme.
“Being nominated again is an honour in itself. With so many strong restaurants and wine bars, it is a community we are very happy to be part of. Winning, of course, is the cherry on top. What matters most to us is to continue building a wine list that feels relevant and generous for our guests, year after year,” says Christopher Smeds Bjerlo.
The jury´s motivation
“A great list with so many good producers and a very good balance between the style of wines. The sparkling section is dynamic and contemporary, and there are many aged wines at fantastic prices. A perfectly sized list that will make many clients happy.”
The ambition is to maintain, over time, a balanced and multifaceted list that also offers wines with bottle age and drinking maturity. It is both gratifying and somewhat humbling that colleagues from different parts of the world recognise and appreciate the structure of the wine list. Our hope, of course, is that our wine-loving guests feel the same.

The wine experience truly takes shape in the meeting with the guest, where the entire restaurant team contributes, not least our sommeliers Daniel Pettersson and Rovilla Hansson.
Star Wine List is an international guide highlighting some of the world’s best wine bars and wine restaurants. Wine lists are evaluated by an independent jury of leading sommeliers and wine experts.
